Hello, Dehesa Chula Vista! My name is Erin Guthrie and I am excited to join the Learning Center this year as the science instructor for K-3.
A little background on me- I taught lower elementary from 2007-2013 at a local charter school. My husband and I decided it was time for me to switch gears and explore homeschooling as well as start a family. It is my desire to homeschool my children when the time comes and I look forward to learning from all of you.
As for now, I will be teaching science at the LC on Mondays and Thursdays through the fall and winter. Come late winter, the schedule will change a bit and I will be teaching science on Thursdays only.
Toni and I have met to discuss the science program last year and a direction for this year. I am really excited about what is planned and think your kiddos will enjoy the experiments and activities.
I will use this site as my primary means of communication. You will find posts and updates about key concepts we will focus on each week. I will periodically post connections you can make at home as well.
